I got no Mo to go with my jo these long summer months have stolen my flow I’m set to one speed it’s sloth like slow dudes vibing with weed got more get up and go there’s no order in my corner No pattern In my action I’m a scribble got no jot Missing every shot I’m all meander With no dander My goose has lost its gander In a puddle of a muddle Steeped in befuddle If I’m being honest I could do with a little cuddle Just as I’m about to hit the floor the answer to my silent prayers knocks upon the door Salvation’s combination wrapped up neatly in a box All the tea that’s left in China bamboo PJ’s and some socks And just in case that’s not enough to get me back on track entirely At the bottom of the parcel I also found a diary.

There are times when I’m in the flow and life seems set up to accommodate, and times when I feel like I’m wading through treacle filled chaos, yet the difference often isn’t in the outer world but in my inner one. In busy times I can fall into the ‘gotta, gotta, gotta’ mindset, but this litany of ‘to do’s, should’s and must’s’ circling around my head are often the very thing draining my energy and keeping me overwhelmed.
But focus on the few simple things in life that really do have to be done -like breathing (can’t forget this one easily), eating, sleeping, maybe remembering to collect the kids from school every now and then and (for me) making time for meditation (or whatever practice you find meditative), and the brain calms. It realises there is no emergency that needs to be dealt with right now, and this provides the space and opportunity to decide what to do next. As for the diary? Well, there’s no harm in a little organisation.

I hope you enjoyed this rhyme. There’s plenty more to discover on my site so why not grab a cuppa and explore? Yes, I can relate!

The rhyme is perfect, as is your sentence stating: “I feel like I’m wading through treacle filled chaos.” Amen sister, I get that. Beautifully said

I’m all meander
With no dander
My goose has lost its gander
In a puddle of a muddle
Steeped in befuddle
If I’m being honest
I could do with a little cuddle
Loved the whole poem but this verse exactly sums up how I’m feeling. X
