I No Longer Lack a Substack: getting over myself to try a new track

Ok, so that was more rhyming than was necessary, I apologise. I’m just excited because I finally started a Substack!

It’s called Rae of Sunlight, and you can read the first post and subscribe by clicking here:

Sweet Relief

It feels so good to have done something I’ve been procrastinating about for so long (at least eighteen months). I allowed so many things to get in the way of starting this newsletter: I needed to find the right name; I needed a content strategy; I needed to finish my coaching qualification; I needed more time. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Eventually, I realised what I actually needed was to get over myself. This should be fun!

Don’t think, just do

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but there can be such a thing as too much planning. Sometimes we get so lost in the idea of doing something, or getting it ‘right,’ that we end up not doing it at all. If an idea won’t stop calling to you, if it’s niggling away in your mind and you think it might be fun to try, then give it a go. You don’t have to go pro from day one. You may like it, you may not, but it’ll probably take less energy to try it out than it will dwelling on the what if’s.

If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting the rest of our lives

If you enjoy my writing here then I really hope you’ll consider subscribing to Rae of Sunlight. In the meantime, you can hear about my Japan travels here on Rae Cods Writing, starting with musical trains and musical toilets, which will be posted tomorrow.

  1. You already know how happy I am about this announcement, Rae.🎉💃🏽

Thank you for encouraging me, as you do pretty much every time you set finger to keyboard. I’m really squirming and dithering about my next blog post – it will go out on the morning after Election Day in the US and that feels like a lot of pressure because, as everyone knows, the stakes are so high. SO. HIGH. So I want to write something meaningful. You’ve inspired me to plunge ahead with my ideas and pursue them with all my heart and put them out there and not worry. Yay! Thanks again and as always, dear Rae.

Can’t wait to hear all about Japan!! 🇯🇵

    • You return the encouragement 100 fold lovely lady 🥰❤️

That does feel like a lot of pressure but as you said, embrace your ideas, put aside the thinking mind & tune into the heart the words will flow (& none will judge you for writing from the heart) I look forward to reading your always-inspiring words ☺️xxx
